Neonatology Service is an IPD (In Patient Department) service designed for caring new born. Hospitalized patients are visited daily by specialists doctors or medical doctors accompanied by nurses who provide care as recommended by doctors. Doctors in ward round evaluate patient’s evolution by analysing results from laboratory or recommend treatment changes for curative cares.

Service delivered at Kabgayi H Neonatology Service

• Patient care management and orientation;
• Parent education session on behaviour change regarding to diseases prevention; patient right and responsibilities;
• Consultation of the new born ;
• Curative cares  of the new born;
• Kangaroo mother care;
• Re-evaluation and Follow-up of patients in ward round tour.
• Laboratory order for illness investigation;
• Radiology order for illness investigation;
• Drugs order and administration;
• Appointment of follow-up of the new born after being discharged in neonatology;
• Transfer to referral hospitals for more investigation.
